Grasmere is one of the smaller lakes of the English Lake District. It gives its name to the village of Grasmere which is famously associated with the poet William Wordsworth.

The village of Grasmere lies immediately to the north of the lake.

It is absolutely beautiful, very scenic and tranquil. You can sit by the lake in the cafe that hires out rowing boats. During you visit why not go for a lovely walk round the lake.

Starting from the village to the other end and come back or carry on and eventually come out by the roadside, cross over and walk up the other side up the hill and then come down the road by Dove cottage and back into Grasmere.
