Merewood Country House Hotel is a unique hotel and events venue, offering 20 bespoke ensuite bedrooms, some of which offer exceptional lake views.

Built in 1812 for the son of the first Earl of Lonsdale, the hotel stands in 20 acres of secluded woodland, with its elevated position offering unrivalled views over Windermere to the mountains beyond.

Upon your entrance into the hotel, you find yourself walking into the wood panelled reception hall, with original stained glass windows. From here you have the option of three distinctly different reception rooms; The Edwardian conservatory bar, comfortable and intimate library, or the elegant drawing room, creating a true country house atmosphere.

Their two dining rooms offer imaginative country house cuisine, with menus based on fresh local produce, enhanced by flavours from their own herb garden and complemented by an extensive wine list.
